Dear KGS Members and the Genealogy Public,
Welcome to the 2015 membership year and KGS's 26th year! This year we are offering programs to enhance your genealogy research skills and we have a Research Assistance Team to help members with "road blocks" or any other research need.
The programs for 2015 are aimed at enabling genealogists to do research on the internet. KGS is offering training in the use of Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, Heritage Quest and general searching on the internet. There are also providing trainings in July and August. See the "Events" tab for more information.
Additionally, KGS volunteers are available each Wednesday from 10-12:00 and 2-4:00 pm in the Reference Room of the Kingsland Public Library to assist individuals with genealogy research. The Reference Room is dedicated to genealogy research. The Kingsland Genealogical Society purchases, donates and maintains a library collection of several hundred volumes since 1989. There are books and periodicals from most states and countries. There is also a computer for your use on Wednesdays. A current project is to have a book on each of the Texas counties. We are close!
Interested members of the public are welcome to join the KGS membership at our meetings. We want you to think we are so helpful that you decide to join!
We can be emailed at firstname.lastname@example.org.
